Water Conservation
Marina remains at Level I conservation
restrictions. That means no watering between 10 a.m. and 5
p.m. except by hand
with an automatic shutoff, no washing of hard surfaces, and
no watering that results in runoff to gutters or drains.
There are other ways to conserve, too. Many times, less water
is needed to achieve healthy, attractive landscaping. Here are
some tips:
- Turn off your automated water sprinkler. Water only if the plants
or trees show signs of needing it.
- Water deeply, but less frequently.
Deep watering encourages root growth, but overwatering is a
major cause of plant disease and
death.
- Change to drought tolerant landscaping. This is a good
time to replace some of your thirsty grass with ground covers,
shrubs,
and trees that need less water.
- Remember that wasted water
does no one any good!
You can also save inside the home. Use
your shower shut-off button to stop the water flow when not
needed. Also, remind
out-of-town
guests of our continuing need to conserve.
