DRAFT MINUTES
1. CALL TO ORDER:
President Randle called the meeting to order at 7:36 P. M. On April 30, 1998.
2. ROLL CALL:
BOARD MEMBERS PRESENT:
Emmette Randle, Jr., President
Tom Moore
Gary Wilmot
Ben Smith
STAFF MEMBERS PRESENT:
Leo Laska, General Manager
Connie Chavoya, ASO for Personnel & Administration
Lloyd W. Lowrey, Jr., Legal Counsel
3. QUESTIONS/COMMENTS FROM THE PUBLIC ON ANY ITEM NOT ON THE AGENDA:
None.
4. TAKE ACTION TO DECLARE VACANCY ON THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS:
Mr. Lowrey briefed the Board on the law regarding a Director’s performance
of duties.
On motion by Director Wilmot, seconded by President Randle; the Board adopt
Resolution No. 98-2 (declaring the Director Smith’s office is vacant
pursuant to Section 1770(g) of the California Government Code).
President Randle- Yes Director Wilmot - Yes
Director Moore - No
Motion failed.
5. TAKE ACTION TO DECLARE VACANCY ON THE WATER CONSERVATION COMMISSION:
On motion by Director Wilmot, seconded by Director Moore; the Board declare
a vacancy on the Water Conservation Commission.
Director Wilmot - Yes Director Smith - Yes
President Randle- Yes Director Moore - Yes
Motion carried unanimously.
