Questions |
1 |
Who will handle the installation of poles required for mounting hardware cabinets/enclosures and cameras? |
The contractor/vendor selected. |
2 |
Could you provide details about power availability at remote sites? Will power be provided for installed hardware, or is a solar alternative needed for these sites? |
Two sites, C Res. and F Res, have 12V DC power via solar. I am unsure if there is sufficient power to provide cameras and storage. Currently, analyzers and equipment are using looped DC power. All other sites have power available. |
3 |
Will network connections be available at remote sites (excluding the three offices), or will they continue using cellular connections? It was mentioned that Starlink was under consideration for the remote sites. |
Acquiring Starlink connections is slated for FY 25 (July 1, 2024 – June 30, 2025), but these will be installed in the Imjin, Fort Ord, and Beach Offices. Other sites have a combination of cellular and radio. |
4 |
Is point-to-point connection installation an option for remote sites lacking internet connections? If so, which locations are eligible, and when can this connection be expected? |
All sewer sites and water well sites have low frequency radio that will not handle video. Cellular is available in either 4G LTE or 5G depending on the site to all. We would need to configure the modems to run on internet for video link. There is high speed radios available at all tank sites, with the exception of B reservoir. |

Could you share the questions and answers generated from the initial RFP walk-through and proposal discussions? |
No questions were sent for the first RFP opening. |
6 |
Should product information briefs be included in the RFP response, or only the hardware list and quote? |
A short description of the product and what it brings to the setup will suffice. |
7 |
Is it necessary to include a proposed maintenance/cleaning schedule in the initial RFP response or as a follow-up? This would cover scheduled camera cleaning, contact sensor testing, backup battery replacement, etc. |
Yes, please include this in the RFP. |
